The federal government has awarded more than a quarter of a billion dollars to go toward the construction of a new Holyoke Soldiers Home- devastated during the Covid 19 pandemic.
State Senator John Velis says the money comes after several years of what he called "zealous advocating" for the complex.
164 million dollars comes in the first round of that funding.
Construction could begin as early as this summer.
