Will Covid Masks Return

Health care experts are calling for the return of universal mask protections and pre-admission testing this winter.

The aim is to reduce the spread of coronavirus among patients and healthcare workers.

Dr. David Alpern, a retired internist told the Massachusetts Coalition for Health Equity on Monday that because symptoms of COVID-19 are indistinguishable from the common cold, the precautions should be taken.

The coalition's virtual press conference also provided policy recommendations for the Healey-Driscoll Administration, including public education about long COVID, vaccines, and free access to PCR and rapid test kits.
