Bishop Swan: Time For Real Change At Southwick Regional High School

A series of racial incidents at Southwick Regional High School has drawn condemnation from civil rights leaders.

These alleged incidents reportedly targeted a 13-year-old girl who began attending the school this year.

While her name has not been released, the girl's mother, Allyson Lopez says her daughter was the target of racial slurs, and an online "slave auction" where students placed bids to purchase Black students.

Lopez charges school officials took no action, and the Greater Springfield NAACP has condemned the district's leadership and demanded an investigation.

The district has offered no comment.
