Former Springfield City Councilor Ray DiPasquale has passed away at the age of 74.
DiPasquale served on the City Council for several years but made his mark in education.
He joined Springfield Technical Community College in 1979 and held numerous leadership positions through 1998.
Springfield Mayor Dom Sarno said, “ My sympathy, thoughts, prayers, and encouragement to Ray’s family, friends, and colleagues. Ray was always the gentleman, not only accomplished in politics, but also in the higher education world too, serving in a number of leadership positions with Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) and most recently as President at Massasoit Community College. Ray, may God rest your soul.”
DiPasquale also served as president of Clinton Community College in New York, Community College of Rhode Island, and of Massasoit Community College in Brockton, a post he had held since 2021.
