Seven people arrested- seven powerful guns confiscated after a chaotic night around the State Street corridor.
Police say it started when officers working with the Fire Arms Investigation were shot at by a passing car.
Later a police officer heading to work was struck by gunfire –and was able to make it to the 600 block of State Street near the CVS.
He is in serious condition but is expected to survive.
Police have arrested 18 year old Isak Font .
He is accused of shooting the officer as well as at the cruiser.
More details are expected later today.
