Relief is on the way for people living in several Western Massachusetts communities.
The state has awarded nearly 40-million dollars in grant funding to 65 municipalities for community development.
The money will go toward housing rehabilitation for low-and-moderate income residents, as well as local infrastructure projects.
Some of the localities impacted by the funding include Agawam, Chesterfield, Easthampton, and West Springfield.
