President Biden says negotiators were on the verge of reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Biden made the comment on Saturday before the Israeli military confirmed the recovery of the bodies of six Hamas hostages including one American.

Biden told reporters he's still optimistic because both sides are still continuing to meet.

The President added, they all agree on the principles so "keep your fingers crossed."

Meantime, over a hundred people gathered in Newton to mourn the killing of Israeli-American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin.

The vigil in Newton Center was for the man with local family ties, along with the other five hostages killed in Gaza over the weekend.

Goldberg-Polin's aunt Bonnie Polin is a Newton resident who has been attending rallies in support of the hostages in the community for months.

The hostages were killed in a Gaza tunnel as Israeli soldiers battled with Palestinian militants nearby.
