Shawn Mendes Confirms Album No. 4 Is Coming: 'I'll See You Soon'

62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards - Arrivals

Shawn Mendes is returning with new music!

The “Lost in Japan” singer-songwriter is priming the Mendes Army for another album. He revealed this and more on Friday (February 21) in an Instagram Stories video, confirming his fourth studio album is coming down the pipeline. “What’s up guys? I know that I haven’t been on Instagram at all lately,” he begins in the clip. “But I just wanted to say that I love, and I miss you so much. I’m making another album. So, yeah, I love you and I’ll see you soon!”

While the 21-year-old crooner held out on exactly when longtime listeners can expect his new material to arrive, it goes without saying that Mendes’ followers are going to be on pins and needles until then.

As fans know, the “Stitches” superstar’s last album, Shawn Mendes, released in May 2018. After setting across the globe to support the LP, he culminated his “Shawn Mendes: The Tour” in Mexico City on December 21. “Sitting here on the stage for sound check at my 100th show right now. Overwhelmed with gratitude and love for you ❤️ what an insane year (wait till the end lol),” he captioned a highlight reel video from the experience at the time.

The new music announcement comes after a pretty insane 2019. The superstar not only delivered one of the year’s biggest records with the hot and heavy Song of Summer jam “Senorita,” it would be the spark by which Mendes and collaborator Camila Cabello would kindle their long-awaited romance. (We don’t know about you, but we’re totes down for another duet!)
