Massachusetts is getting nearly 12-million-dollars in federal funding to combat the opioid epidemic.
Senator Ed Markey says the money is critical in the efforts to deal with prescription drug, heroin and fentanyl addiction.
The money for Massachusetts comes from 500-million-dollars in funding for states through the 21st Century Cures Act.
