Now that I am back in the swing of things after some time off… a thought or two about the last week and the news cycle--
On my college crew last year I had two Poles, two Italians, a Baptist, a black and a German.
We spoke what needed to be said without personal anger.
We acted like the people on a mission because we had one.
We worked for each other. We had each other’s back.
And at no time when someone had a problem did I wish harm upon them (well with the exception of the threat I made against the back judge who booked us into a NY hotel which was short of my standards).
The point is that when someone had a criticism, others had an ear.
When someone had a problem, someone had a solution.
So having said that … When there is something bad in someone’s mind, why can’t we replace it with good?
When someone wants to do bad--isn’t it as easy to replace it with something good.
Or to say something that harms, to do something that builds?
I guess sports, which so many contend mimics life, doesn’t at all.
Perhaps for the good of everyone, maybe it should.
