The Massachusetts House is giving its approval to a major rewrite of the citizen-crafted law legalizing recreational marijuana.
The House bill raises the tax rate on marijuana retail sales from twelve-percent to 28-percent.
The measure would also put decisions on whether to ban marijuana shops in the hands of local leaders, not local voters.
The Senate is expected to approve a weaker marijuana reform bill today.
