A Boston police sergeant is accused of making false statements allowing him to fly armed on personal trips.
Bruce Smith of Randolph is also accused of making false statements to enable a friend to fly with him without being screened by Logan International Airport security.
Smith is charged with lying to TSA officials along with illegally entering a secure area of an airport to evade security requirements.
He faces a maximum of ten years in prison if convicted.
