A study looking at the possibility of high-speed rail between Boston and Springfield is making its way through Beacon Hill once again.
The Massachusetts Senate has adopted an amendment requiring MassDOT to conduct the study, this time including service to Pittsfield.
State Senator Eric Lesser, who sponsored the amendment, has had previous efforts to make the study a reality quashed by the state House and Governor Charlie Baker.
This is the fourth year in a row the Senate has approved a budget amendment for the study.
Senator Lesser says he is hopeful the study will make it through the process this time.
