Is There A Better Way Than What We Have?

I am just trying to figure out where we are in this country today.  And I am trying to figure out why we are trying to make things more difficult than what they really are.  Life is hard enough without talking heads and pols making it worse.

For example, we have in this country an issue with single use plastic bags.  Environmentalists say they are a big problem for the environment.  Many communities are banning their use.

All of which is admirable,  But is it the right direction?

If you have the technology to make the bag in the first place, can’t you change the formula, revamp a machine or two and make an environmentally sound plastic bag that does what it does now but safer and cleaner?

Perhaps after two years a new cleaner bag can break down and become fertilizer.

I am sure they have time at MIT to do something.

It does not stop there.

A lot of people have issues with the coal industry.

They want it gone because of the pollution it causes.

Well although that was the case, now the production and mining of coal is a lot different then it was...and although not perfect headed in the right direction.

Instead of wanting the industry gone, can we revamp the system?

Certainly with all these states in the union bragging about how good their colleges are perhaps one of them can find a way to take what we have and expand where than implode an entire industry.

Teddy Roosevelt said, “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

Isn’t it time that we start caring about different things?
