Worcester Idea May Be Wave Of The Future

Worcester city officials are exploring the possibility of moving the date children trick or treat for Halloween.

City Manager Ed Augustus is planning to meet with police and school officials to discuss the idea.

Augustus believes it would be much safer for children to be out on the Saturday before Halloween, with an earlier designated start time.

Supporters also say the change would make it easier on parents, who would not have to rush home from work to prepare for trick or treaters.

Makes you wonder what next we are going to try to change?

Perhaps moving Christmas to February? Are you more likely to get a White Christmas then?

How about moving the Fourth of July closer to Labor day so we can get a really long weekend?

Much to do about nothing?

Or is it an idea whose time has come?
