A special state legislative committee continued to hear testimony about the deadly COVID-19 outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers' Home last year.
Former federal prosecutor Mark Pearlstein took his turn before the committee, which plans to file legislation to improve operations at the Soldiers' Home.
Pearlstein's report, released last June, concluded leadership was to blame for the outbreak, especially former superintendent Bennett Walsh, who now faces criminal charges for the deaths along with the facility's former medical director. The report concluded that the Baker Administration did nothing in the way it handled the outbreak.
A final report from the legislative committee, which has been hearing testimony about the HSH outbreak for several months, is expected soon.
