Should Teens Be Allowed To Vote?

A Holyoke city councilor wants to  allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote in municipal elections.

Board member  Nelson Roman is seeking a non-binding referendum on the ballot this  year.

City Council referred the issue to committee at a Tuesday meeting.

Mayor Alex Morse says he supports the change.

Morse says that he would also support election day being called a state holiday.
