First Weekend Quite A Hit

The first commuter rail line to  launch in Connecticut in decades is up and running, but was overwhelmed  in getting started.

The line began running daily service between New Haven, Hartford  and Springfield, Massachusetts over the weekend.

Thousands took  advantage of the offer of free rides this weekend, and yesterday the  service could not handle the traffic.

Trains were filled to capacity  and passengers were turned away, with buses brought in to handle the  extra load.

Officials say the new service will be easier to deal with from a traffic perspective.
