Senator Makes Push Away From Arming Teachers

A Connecticut Democrat is introducing legislation aimed at preventing schools from arming teachers.

The move comes after Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos suggested she'd no longer prohibit school districts from using federal funds to purchase firearms, or provide firearms training for teachers.

Richard Blumenthal says that teaching is a tough enough job without the pressure of arming teachers in an effort to keep kids safe.

The Connecticut Senior Senator says that well placed Resource Officers and stronger doors and windows would be better ways than spending money to arm and train teachers.
