Voters Approve Measure Aimed Against Pipeline

Longmeadow voters went to the polls Tuesday but clearly the main event was a non binding referendum which some see as a way to prevent a pipeline project from proceeding in town.

Voters approved the measure which would allow The Select Board to investigate whether it was possible for the town to buy four parcels of land that Tennessee Gas wants to use for a metering station for its system.

The vote was 1270 in favor.

693 against.
