Standoff Ends Without Incident--Man Still In Hospital

A man is facing charges after an incident with police in Northampton on Monday.

The individual allegedly attacked a maintenance worker, fought with police, and eventually barricaded himself in his apartment at the Live 155 building on Pleasant Street.

Northampton Police Chief Jody Kasper says the 49-year-old man was forcibly removed just before noon and taken to Baystate Medical Center with minor injuries.

Local and state police reportedly negotiated for about four hours prior. Charges are pending.
