Neal Statement: Both Sides Should Take A Step Back From The Brink

Congressman Richard Neal is reacting to the bombing by Iran---targeting two military targets that house US and Coalition Forces:

“Every American should be deeply concerned about confirmed reports from the Middle East tonight that Iran has fired more than a dozen ballistic missiles into military bases in western Iraq that house United States and coalition forces. This attack represents a serious escalation in tensions between the U.S. and Iran and has put our brave service members at risk.

I unequivocally condemn the actions of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, but urge both the Trump administration and the Iranian government to take a step back from the brink and exercise restraint to prevent a further intensification of hostilities. We are at a dangerous crossroads. As a result, President Trump and senior administration should brief the House and Senate immediately before undertaking any future action towards Iran and seek Congressional approval going forward.”
