Husband Admits To Killing Transgendered Wife

The husband of a transgender woman who was charged with killing her in their North Adams home is being sentenced.

Mark Steele Knudslien was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Berkshire Superior Court on Thursday.

Christa Leigh Steele-Knudslien, who was a well-known activist in the local transgender community, was reportedly found stabbed and beaten to death in 2018.

Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington said this was another horrific domestic violence homicide in the Berkshires.
