JUUL Case Features Battle Between Past And Present Attorney General

State Attorney General Maura Healey is suing e-cigarette maker JUUL over an alleged effort to lure teens into vaping.

Healey says JUUL Labs has created an epidemic with an extensive marketing campaign aimed at getting children addicted to vapes.

Healey says internal documents from the company show that leaders decided to focus on targeting a younger audience with marketing.

The lawsuit seeks to have JUUL pay the state's costs associated with the public health crisis caused by its products.

The case when it gets to court will provide drama.

One of the chief lawyers for JUUL is Martha Coakley. She was the Massachusetts Attorney General who retired from office to be replaced by Healey.
