Attorney General Maura Healey is urging Facebook to drop plans to launch the Instagram Kids app for children under the age of 13.
Healey is co-leading a bipartisan coalition of 44 attorneys general from across the country in opposing Instagram Kids.
Healey says Facebook has a history of failing to protect the welfare of children on its platforms.
She says Facebook is ignoring the real threat posed by social media in an effort to profit off a vulnerable segment of the population.
