A judge on Monday denied an emergency motion to keep the Roderick Ireland Courthouse in Springfield closed.
Workers evacuated the courthouse last month after mold growth was found throughout the building.
The Massachusetts Trial Court ordered a remediation effort and has since re-opened the courthouse, but its tenants are still expressing concerns.
Worcester Superior Court Judge Daniel Wrenn said in his ruling yesterday it's clear further cleanup efforts need to be undertaken, but that he could not rule that the plaintiffs would be irreparably harmed if he did not order the courthouse closed.
Meantime, that is not the only issue with mold in the region.
In South Hadley - parents are preparing a petition for state officials urging them to allow high school students to be able to go to remote learning because of a huge mold issue at the high school.
It is an issue that has forced kids back into their summer vacations.
