A victim in an alleged altercation involving off-duty Springfield police officers is settling a civil suit.
Paul Cumby of Chicopee settled for an undisclosed amount just before a trial was set to begin in Hampden Superior Court.
Cumby had sued Nathan Bill's bar and restaurant after he claimed he was beaten in a nearby parking lot in 2015, suffering multiple injuries.
More than a dozen Springfield police officers were prosecuted by the state in connection to the incident.
Just two of them were convicted of misdemeanor assault, while many others have been acquitted or had their cases dismissed.
