Federal Government Officially Recommends Barring Harvard From Federal Funds

The federal government is recommending barring Harvard from receiving federal funds.

Yesterday the Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Civil Rights formerly recommended that action.

This comes months after accusing the university of violating civil rights laws by failing to protect Jewish and Israeli students on campus.

The office said it would refer Harvard to the office that is responsible for "suspension and debarment" decisions.

It also notified Harvard of its right to an administrative hearing.
