Three Veteran Councilors In Springfield, Holyoke Lose Reelection Bids

In Western Mass- all incumbent mayors who ran for re-election won the office back including in Northampton where Gina Louise Sciarra won the office back beating Jillian Duclose by about 100 votes. It is unclear whether there will be a recount there.

Springfield and Holyoke had surprises as well known- and longtime incumbents lost re-election bids.

Tim Allen the Springfield City Councilor lost his bid to return to the city council to Gerry Martin in Ward Seven. Martin took about 66 percent of the vote.

At Large winners in Springfield: Jose Delgado, Justin Hurst, Tracye Whitfield, Kateri Walsh, and Brian Santaniello.

Springfield City Councilor At Large Sean Curran lost his bid to return to the governing body.

In Holyoke- Kevin Jourdain - running At-Large lost his bid to return to the council.

He has served 28 total years.

Afterwards he said it was clear to him that Holyoke was going in a different direction.

In Easthampton- Salem Derby who was the interim Mayor-wins the seat on his own taking 56 percent of the vote against Mayoral Aide Lindsey Sekula.
