Massachusetts says the state collected nearly one-billion dollars more in tax revenue than expected in April.
This is about 14-percent more than officials projected for the most consequential month on the budget calendar.
Budget watchdogs said it's still difficult to tell if these numbers show the state's economy is exceeding expectations.
This is due to consumers paying for rising gas prices and a struggling job market.
