A lawsuit is alleging sexual abuse by two Catholic bishops in West Springfield in the 1970s.
The recently-filed lawsuit against the Roman Catholic Bishop of Springfield alleges the plaintiff was abused by Bishop Christopher Weldon and Bishop Joseph Maguire at Our Lady of Providence church when he was a young boy.
Weldon allegedly told the boy he would go to hell if he said anything.
The plaintiff is seeking compensatory damages.
The Diocese has not responded to the allegations in the suit.
