Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is calling for hearings on the causes of and solutions to school and other mass shootings.
Warren, who is a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, says Congress has a responsibility to address gun violence as a public health crisis.
There are several pieces of gun legislation going around the Senate. It is unclear whether any of them will see the light of day.
According to the "New York Times," since 20 students and six adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut in December of 2012, there have been at least 239 school shootings resulting in 138 deaths.
