"Get a warrant" is what South Congregational Church is saying to the city of Springfield.
The church granted sanctuary last month to Gisella Collazo, who is avoiding deportation, which prompted Mayor Domenic Sarno to order a review of the church's tax-exempt status and have the church inspected for housing code violations.
However, Springfield city solicitor Ed Pikula says an attorney has indicated that the church will only allow an inspection if a court issues a search warrant.
City officials say the church originally agreed to an inspection on Monday, but church leaders are disputing that, saying they've already had a regular inspection this year.
