Wynn Resorts reportedly is in talks to sell the two and a half-billion-dollar casino project in Everett to MGM Resorts.
Formal talks between the two sides reportedly began yesterday.
MGM would have to sell its Springfield casino project, as state law does not allow the same company to hold more than one casino license.
Wynn has faced scrutiny since sexual misconduct allegations were leveled against company founder Steve Wynn.
Springfield officials haven't commented on the story.
