Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno says he has been re-assured by MGM officials of a continued commitment to a first-class casino in the city.
This comes after reports that Wynn Resorts is in talks to sell its casino project in Everett to MGM, which would mean MGM has to sell its Springfield casino to comply with state law.
Sarno added in his statement that he has consulted with the city's legal team and that they are satisfied with their Host Community Agreement protections.
