A Springfield doctor is being convicted in connection with allowing a pharmaceutical sales representative to access patient records and lying to federal investigators about the matter.
Rita Luthra, a gynecologist, was found guilty by a federal jury on Monday, according to the U.S. Justice Department.
A sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
Luthra, who is from Longmeadow, allowed a sales rep from Warner Chilcott to access protected health information in her patients' medical files from January to November of 2011, according to prosecutors.
She could get a year in prison and up to a 50 thousand dollar fine.
