Should The State Seal Be Changed?

Four towns in Franklin County are  factoring into a decision whether to change the state seal of  Massachusetts.

The seal, which depicts an arm holding a sword above the  head of a Native American, has existed for over two-hundred years but is  considered offensive by some in the Native American community.

State  Representative Byron Rushing has filed a bill to form a special  commission to look into a possible change.

Residents in Gill, Wendell,  New Salem and Orange are scheduled to vote in forums next month to  decide if they support the bill.
