Residents: Communication Needed To Avert Problems

Springfield City Councilors got an earful from residents of the South End near the MGM Casino.

That casino will open in about two months and councilors wanted to hear from residents on what is on their minds.

Residents told that traffic is generally speaking pretty tight during the day and casino traffic is going to make it even worse, particularly on Friday nights.

Residents also told councilors that they are concerned about how dark it is in the South End.

They say they have complained to the electric company but to no avail.

Councilors told residents last night that they will continue to have meetings with the neighborhood and will work on a plan to solve the issues that they have been brought.
