Attorney General Maura Healey is defending her decision to allow some towns to extend marijuana moratoriums without a community vote.
Last week, Healey allowed Mansfield to extend a temporary moratorium on pot businesses until June of next year.
That contradicts previous rulings by Healey's office that moratoriums after this December are longer than reasonably necessary.
Healey says her ruling is not a statewide moratorium, saying it will not lead to widespread bans by towns across the state.
