The Springfield Police Department still isn't releasing the names of the officer and suspect involved in a shooting incident on Tuesday.
The police department says the suspect who allegedly tried to run over the officer before being shot is still recovering at Baystate Medical Center, while the officer has been released from the hospital.
Reports indicate the incident unfolded as police were finishing a month-long drug and illegal firearm investigation in the area of an apartment building on Fort Pleasant Avenue.
Twelve people were arrested on Tuesday, according to the SPD.
