A Weymouth police officer is dead after a suspect apparently hit him with a rock, grabbed his service revolver and shot him.
Officer Michael Chesna was shot repeatedly in the head and chest during the incident yesterday morning on Burton Terrace.
A female bystander also died after she was struck and killed by a stray bullet apparently fired by the suspect that entered a nearby home.
The suspect is 20-year-old Emanuel Lopes, and he's scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Quincy District Court.
It is unclear whether that arraignment will be in Court or from the suspect's hospital bed.
