MGM Springfield is releasing its traffic plan for the grand opening of its casino.
Road closures are scheduled on August 24th for portions of Main, State, Union, Stockbridge, Willow and Park streets, plus the ramps at exit 6 on I-91 north and south.
Parking will be limited in downtown Springfield for the opening weekend.
Patrons are being encouraged to park for free at the Big E fairgrounds and use a free shuttle.
That shuttle according to casino general manager Alex Dixon will let patrons off in downtown Springfield at Court Square.
