People living in a homeless camp on the Greenfield Common are being given until August 20th to leave.
The town's board of health has voted to take the position that the encampment is against state regulations.
The Greenfield City Council had plans to decide on a deadline for breaking up the camp. '
Officials say that while the issue is a difficult one to deal with on a local level, it is also bringing the plight of the homeless to the forefront.
