A new report is critical of treatment of women at one area of the University of Massachusetts.
The report released earlier this month found conduct antagonistic toward women and other issues at the Polymer Science and Engineering department, considered to be one of the most prestigious at UMass.
It was commissioned after several sexual misconduct complaints involving faculty.
The student group Graduate Women in STEM, which published a report detailing harassment that led to the creation of a task force by the school in December, responded to the Polymer report on Friday by saying it addressed some issues of gendered incivility, but largely neglects the issue of sexual violence.
