The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is officially giving permission for MGM Springfield to open its new casino.
The document signed by a commission delegate on Wednesday grants a temporary certificate of operations, with a permanent certificate expected to be issued next month.
MGM opens in downtown Springfield on Friday.
