There's an update on the response to several racial incidents at Easthampton High School last year.
The Easthampton school committee at its meeting last week discussed a letter sent in July from the office of Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey which said several provisions of an agreement that was reached with the school district last summer were not met last school year, including providing student training on bullying and harassment.
The letter said the AG's office was confident the school district and new superintendent Allison LeClair will work to fill in the gaps for the 2018-2019 school year.
The involvement from the state was prompted by incidents including a fight between students of color and a white student after the white student had allegedly used a racial slur on social media, and another where a student reportedly wore a Confederate flag shirt to school.
