The race to fill former state Senate president Stan Rosenberg's seat appears to be going to a write-in candidate.
With 97-percent of precincts reporting overnight, Jo Comerford had 53-percent of the vote in the Democratic primary race for the Hampshire, Franklin and Worcester District position versus 40-percent for Chelsea Kline, the only candidate listed on the ballot.
Comerford's campaign did not declare victory Tuesday night, telling supporters at Union Station in Springfield that they were waiting for final numbers on Wednesday morning.
The winner will not face a Republican opponent in the general election.
