MGM Springfield generated about nine-and-a-half-million dollars in gross gaming revenue in its first week of existence.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission's report is for the month of August, but the casino didn't open until the 24th of the month.
Most of the revenue came from slot games.
The revenue generated about two-point-three-million dollars in taxes, according to the commission.
Officials say it was quite a successful start to the casino era in Springfield.
