Three downtown Springfield strip clubs are seeking a policy change from the city to allow customers to enter or re-enter the clubs after one a.m.
They say the change will help offset the loss of late-night business to the MGM Springfield casino.
City lawyers voiced concern about the request at a hearing, and that another meeting will be held after officials review nighttime crime data for the downtown area.
Many bars can currently stay open until two a.m., but they are not allowed to admit any new customers, or let customers re-enter after one a.m.
