(24/7 News) -- An independent analysis of a controversial ballot measure is estimating how much it would cost.
If Question 1 is approved by voters, it would create a system of state-mandated patient-to-nurse ratios in health care facilities.
The Massachusetts Health Policy Commission says this would cost 676 to 949 million dollars for hospital and other care providers.
The measure is supported by the Massachusetts Nurses Association, but a report warns some parts of health care could suffer and insurance premiums could be affected.
